Some of our favorite productions have been the two shows we’ve been able to do in front of a live audience. You can check out the recordings from 2018 and 2019.
One of the aspects of doing audio fiction live is doing the sound effects live… and here, the appearance of the noisemakers are almost as much fun as the noises they make themselves.
So you can imagine the glee when we came across this brief video:
Well, we thought, Who is this guy? I mean, consider his glee at the end of his video. Observe his attention to detail by being in proper attire to blow the Horn of Geddon. This is the type of mania we appreciate in the Tulgey Wood.
So we had to learn more about this man and learn we did. He did not stop with the Horn!
Now, were not saying the Horn of Geddon doesnt have craftsmanship, but this is taking things to another theatrical level. Or perhaps “pastoral level” would be more appropriate. Frankly, if we needed a freaky horn instrument for a production of Midsummer Night’s Dream, this feels like a good starting point. We’re confident we could use this for some live production of Through the Looking Glass.
So that’s all well and good, but what if we want it well and bad? In other words, what do we do for Through a Glass, Darkly?
Again, he delivers. We would happily play this instruments next to our other foley devices… and perhaps a Cthulhu plushie.
Alas, it will likely not be until 2025 when we do another live show, but rest assured, the mad scientist wheels are turning.
