Andrew Quilpa
Andrew Quilpa is a Filipino-American actor and sometimes a writer when he actually gets around to it. His love for performance started at age 7, when after first watching a VHS copy of the Disney classic The Lion King, he learned and whenever he could, sang all the lyrics to the song “Be Prepared.” This was years before he even understood what the phrase quid pro quo even meant.
After earning his BA at the University of Virginia, Andrew moved to DC as an Americorps member, where he worked with the technical training nonprofit, Byte Back. After a chance networking opportunity with Young Playwrights Theatre and Imagination Stage, he began auditioning again, and never looked back!
Andrew has worked with a number of theater companies, including Adventure Theatre MTC, Rorschach Theatre, Puppet Company, and Faction of Fools Theatre Company. He has voiced a number of characters for Graphic Audio, Feminist Fairytales podcasts, and Flying V Theatre’s Paperless Pulp series. Andrew is a company member of Faction of Fools Theatre Company and The COIL Project, having served as Artistic Director since 2024.
