Laura Mirsky
Laura Mirsky (she/her) has been acting forever, mostly on stage, at NYC’s The Public Theatre, Ensemble Studio Theater, and H.E.R.E.; Minneapolis’s Guthrie Theatre, New Jersey Shakespeare Festival and many other venues, in works by Ibsen and Wilde to Wendy Wasserstein and Mac Wellman.
In another vein altogether, she co-created and performed in the comedy cabarets, Blown Apple, at NYC’s LaMama Experimental Theater Club, and Kierkegaard!, at the Second City, Chicago; and with the comedy team, The Other Leading Brand, at NYC clubs.
Former incarnations include newspaper reporter/columnist, as well as development executive for film, TV, advertising and nonprofits.
Confined by COVID, she now churns out an ever-changing cast of characters from her home studio: cut-throat attorney Abril Ramas, in Jabberwocky’s Quorum; pixilated English witch Agnes Whittenford, in Operation Clutterbuck, with The Profound Idiots; flaky mom Penny Sycamore, in You Can’t Take it With You, with Narada Radio Company; upper-class British mum Cecilia Forrester, in The Ornamental Hermit, with Audio Mystery Theatre; and death row prison cell (yes, you read that right) in Deathbed, with HOWL Society, to name a few.
